Run/Jump and Throw Overnight Cross Country and Track Camp

The Monmouth University Track and Field staff strives to help each participant reach his or her potential by offering training advice and providing personalized instruction in the sport of track and field to all campers who attend. Campers will receive a wealth information, including specific drills and goals to help them improve their running/racing, throwing and jumping. Campers will get the opportunity to practice all facets of track and field including all field events while supervised by the experienced Monmouth University Track and Field staff. Each camper will be provided guidance on proper running form and training methods that they can use throughout the year. The program provides positive coaching techniques that will help the athlete walk away with increased self-confidence. Athletes will receive tips about preparing for success in high school and college. Campers will get the opportunity to participate in a camp meet at the end of the week to show off the skills that they have learned throughout the week of camp. Breakfast/ Lunch and Dinner Snack breaks will be provided throughout the day. The campers will sleep in an air-conditioned dorm while they are on campus. An athletic trainer will be present at all times while camp is operating with a camper to counselor ratio of 10-1.

Camp Staff:
The staff of the Monmouth University Track and Field and Cross Country program along with successful high school coaches from NJ will be available for instruction and guidance to ensure a positive experience for each camper.

Items to bring to Camp Each Day:

  • Water Bottle
  • Towel
  • Bathing Suit
  • Extra Shirt/Shorts
  • Running Shoes

  • 7:00am - Wake up    
  • 7:30am - Workout - XC/Track
  • 8:30am - 10:00am - Breakfast
  • 10:00am - 11:00am - Break
  • 11:00am - 12:00pm - Strength Training/Core Work
  • 12:00pm - 1:30pm - Lunch
  • 1:30pm - 2:30pm - Second Workout/Pool Workout
  • 2:30pm - 3:30pm - Break
  • 3:30pm- 5:00pm - Camp Activity
  • 5:00pm - 6:30pm - Dinner
  • 6:30pm - 8:00pm - Guest Speaker
  • 8:00pm - 9:30pm - Camp Activity
  • 10:00pm - Lights out
